How we deliver our courses

Courses are offered as face2face training, distance learning using Microsoft Teams or video learning. Face2face and Teams courses are usually for up to 20 participants although we can work with larger groups at a surcharge. Video training is available to individuals, organisations and businesses that purchase a licence or batch of licences to allow access through this website.

Bespoke Services

For those businesses and organisations that want something different to a structured course, we offer tailor made presentations to suit your individual requirements. Although not CPD accredited, these bespoke sessions will be designed around your requirements and delivered in an informal style allowing maximum interaction and discussion. Individually designed sessions have already been delivered to major organisations around the UK, both by Teams and face2face.

About Us

National Gender Training was set up by Michelle Clarke in answer to the growing demand locally, and nationally, for training in and around the subject of being transgender. In collaboration with another trans person, we had been giving talks of our journeys, to local NHS staff, which was so well received that we were being asked back time & again. Seeing this demand brought about the formation of this business in 2020.

History

Michelle was brought up as Michael (Mike) with 2 siblings, and after leaving school Mike joined the Merchant Navy as a navigation cadet in 1972. He went on to become 3rd and 2nd officer, with a brief stint as chief officer, serving on mainly dry bulk carriers of around 26,000 tons deadweight (cargo capacity). After a fall in 1984 he was repatriated back to the UK from Singapore, and in February 1984 was diagnosed as intersex (half male, half female). He was offered a sex change but received no counselling nor support, so he decided to remain a male – a decision he very much regrets.
